History

Hamilton Snowber Architects, P.C. was established in 1990. Prior to establishing the firm, Cynthia operated as a sole proprietor for five years, designing small residential and commercial projects. Chris joined the practice following work with two prominent Washington architectural firms, gaining experience in institutional (libraries, museums, university work), commercial (retail, office interiors) and residential (multi-family, private new homes and renovations and additions) projects.

HSA views design and construction as a collaborative process between client, architect, and builder. As part of our design team, we work with associated professionals, including structural and mechanical engineers, landscape architects, lighting designers, audio-visual consultants. Over the years, structural engineering has been provided by Jim Shemro of Shemro Engineering Associates. We are also fortunate to have worked with some of the best builders in the Washington area, including: Baker Construction (John Baker), Bethesda Contracting (Mike Thiede), Frontier Construction (Craig Becraft), Mauck Zantzinger and Associates (Mickey Mauck & Richard Zantzinger), Peterson and Collins (Ted Peterson & George Collins), Taylor Concepts, Inc. (Scott Taylor), and Wayne and Sons, Inc. (Wayne Sutphin).
